The establishment is part of activities during the actionmonth for food safety 2017. The teams will gather representatives from theMinistries of Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Industry andTrade, as well as relevant ministries and agencies.
Twelve localities to be inspected include Lao Cai, Lai Chau,Hanoi, Hung Yen, Quang Nam, Da Nang, DakLak, Gia Lai, NinhThuan, Phu Yen, HCMCity and Ben Tre.
Alongside, the interdisciplinary steering committees on foodsafety of cities and provinceswill build inspection plans in their localitiesand implement the approved plans before May 15.
The inspection will coverfoodproduction, processingfacilities, as well as shops and traditional markets.
The action month for food safety 2017 is themed “Safeproduction, trade and consumption of fresh and raw food; Controlling alcoholand preventing alcohol poisoning.”
The objective of the action month is to raise awareness of localgovernments, management officials, producers, traders and consumers of theimportance of ensuring the safety of food, especially fresh food such asvegetables, meat and seafood, as well as alcohol.
At the same time, it also aims to encourage people to denounceviolations of food safety regulations, contributing to reducing food andalcohol poisoning.-VNA
