Minh,who is Deputy Prime Minister, welcomed the visit by Wang, who is in Vietnamfrom November 2-4, following the success of the 19th Congress of theCommunist Party of China (CPC).
Henoted that the CPV and Government support China to grow further and contributepositively to maintaining peace, stability and cooperation in the region andthe world.
Bothsides agreed to work closely together to prepare for the CPC General Secretaryand President Xi Jinping’s Vietnam visit and his attendance at the Asia-PacificEconomic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting 2017, and effectivelyimplement agreements and common perceptions reached by the two countries’leaders.
Theyvowed to maintain visits and exchanges by high-ranking leaders, Parties,legislatures and Fronts, further uphold the role of the Steering Committee forBilateral Cooperation and the two foreign ministries in directing bilateralties, and enhance cooperation mechanisms between diplomatic, national defence,security and law enforcement sectors.
Thetwo nations will elevate two-way trade in a stable, balanced and sustainabledirection, effectively tap China’s credit packages to Vietnam and continue partneringin transport, agriculture, environment and natural resources,science-technology, climate change response, sustainable protection and use ofMekong – Lancang water resources, exchange of data on border river hydrology,and people-to-people exchange.
Furtherattention will also be paid to enforcing legal regulations on mainland border,promoting the opening and upgrade of border gates as agreed, facilitatingcustoms clearance, developing border economy, maintaining security and order,and coordinating in issues of shared concern at regional and global forums.
TheFM Minh asked for the two sides to seriously abide by agreements and commonperceptions agreed by State and Party leaders, including the Vietnam-ChinaAgreement on Basic Principles Guiding the Settlement of the Issues at Sea whilepromoting the efficiency of current negotiating and cooperation mechanisms tobuild trust, firmly settling disputes inthe East Sea by peaceful means in line with international law, including the1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, fully and effectively implementingthe Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, towards reaching a Codeof Conduct in the East Sea, soundly managing disputes at sea, and avoiding anyactions to complicate and expand the disputes to maintain peace and stabilityin the East Sea.
Briefingthe host about important results of the 19th Congress of the CPC,Wang said Party chief Xi’s selection of Vietnam as the first country to visitfollowing the congress reflected that the CPC, State and he himself attach greatimportance to nurturing the friendly neighborliness and comprehensivecooperation with Vietnam.
Chinasupports Vietnam’s successful hosting of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, hesaid, adding that the Chinese Foreign Ministry will work closely with theVietnamese counterpart and agencies concerned to promote sustainable and stableVietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.-VNA
