Flights transporting COVID-19 vaccines given priority

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has sent a document to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), and airlines requesting the facilitation of flights transporting COVID-19 vaccines.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has sent adocument to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the AirportsCorporation of Vietnam (ACV), and airlines requesting the facilitation of flightstransporting COVID-19 vaccines.

The CAAV said that with the Government’s policyof encouraging the importation of vaccines, the number of flights bringing vaccinesto or through Vietnam will increase in the time ahead.

In order to ensure the effective operations of theseflights, airlines must adopt signals that help air traffic service operators betteridentify flights carrying vaccines.

The ACV has been urged to create the most favourable conditions in terms of infrastructure for these flights, while the VATM is requiredto direct air traffic service facilities to establish landing priority for theseflights, to shorten the transportation time and ensure the quality of vaccines./.
