First Vietnamese language class for expats opens in Thailand

The first-ever Vietnamese language class for overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in Thailand was opened at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok on July 7.

Bangkok (VNA) –The first-ever Vietnamese language class for overseas Vietnamese (OVs) inThailand was opened at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok onJuly 7.

The class, with 10learners in attendance, is jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy inconjunction with the association of Thai people of Vietnamese origin and theThai-Vietnamese business association.

Addressing the openingceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Hai Bang emphasised that the Party and State ofVietnam always pay due attention to teaching Vietnamese language for overseasVietnamese.

With the support of theThai royal family and government, and the large number of Vietnamese, Thailandhas favourable conditions to organise such classes, the diplomat said.

Vietnamese languageclasses are expected to help Vietnamese families abroad preserve their mothertongue and encourage young generations contribute to their homeland, headded.-VNA
