HCMCity (VNA) – The 2019 International Port Infrastructure and LogisticsExhibition and Conference (Vipilec 2019), the first of its kind in Vietnam, isset to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from June 12 to 14.

Theevent, expected to attract 100 exhibitors from 15 countries and territories, willbe held by event organiser UBM Vietnam, in cooperation with the VietnamLogistics Business Association (VLA) and the Vietnam E-commerce Association.

Itis designed to help firms seek business opportunities and introduce theirproducts, advanced technologies and services.

Furthermore,Vipilec 2019 will serve as a professional and reliable platform for technologyand service providers to meet and discuss the current situation and developmenttrends of logistics and supply chain management.

GeneralManager of UBM Vietnam BT Tee said the exhibition and conference will establishconnections between partners across the world in the fields of portinfrastructure and logistics.

In2018, Vietnam stood at the 39th position in the global logistics performanceindex rankings, and ranked third in ASEAN, following Singapore and Thailand.

Thesector eyes an annual growth of 15-20 percent by 2025 while contributing 10percent to the country’s gross domestic product.

Presidentof VLA Le Duy Hiep said potential for Vietnam’s logistics sector remains huge,as the e-commerce market is projected to surge by 25 percent and deliveryservices may record a growth of over 30 percent in the 2018-20 period.–VNA
