Vinh Phuc (VNA) – The northern province of VinhPhuc received on February 28 medical equipment and materials presented byToyota Vietnam to help with the fight against the acute respiratory diseasecaused by the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).
The Vinh Phuc-based company supports theprovince, which recorded 11 of the 16 COVID-19 cases in Vietnam, all of whomhave fully recovered, with 400 infrared thermal scanners and 500 litres ofantiseptic solution.
Informing the sponsor of initial results oflocal anti-COVID-19 efforts, President of the provincial Vietnam FatherlandFront Committee Nguyen Tuan Khanh said amid complex developments of the diseasearound the world, Vinh Phuc hopes to receive more assistance from sectors,localities, businesses and the public in protecting and caring for people’shealth.
Later the same day, the medical equipment andmaterials were delivered to high schools in Vinh Phuc.
Earlier, 400,000 fabric face masks had also beenpresented to local residents by the Shinwon Ebenzer Vietnam and Vina Koreacompanies, located in Khai Quang Industrial Park of the province’s Vinh Yencity.
Meanwhile, facing the disease’s impact on manybusinesses, the provincial People’s Committee has requested relevant agenciesand local administrations to swiftly carry out support for them.
Vinh Phuc accommodates many enterprises in itsindustrial parks, and they are employing about 87,000 labourers, includingthose from some countries affected by COVID-19. Despite strict monitoring,there still exist latent disease spreading risks.
Additionally, many large firms, especially ingarment, footwear, electronics and mechanics sectors, will run out of inputmaterials for production in the second quarter of this year since most of thematerials have to be imported from China, where the SARS-CoV-2 is raging. Ifthe problem is not solved soon, their production will likely fall intostagnation./.
