According to the Da Nang-based Maritime Co-ordination andRescue Centre, it received a call for help from the captain of ship Leonidas onthe afternoon of February 28.
A rescue ship and a team of doctors were sent to give firstaid to the victim, named Guerrero Rosmeni Nedia, before carrying him to themainland on the late night of the same day.
Earlier this year, a crew member on the Liberian-flagged Mariborwas rescued after suffering a stroke, also on the way from Singapore to China.
In 2016, the centre saved Wang Xiaogang, a Chinese seaman,off the coast of Quang Ngai province after he suffered stomach pains on a cargoship.
In 2015, an Indian cargo ship captain, Chatterjee TuhindraNath, was taken to Da Nang after a heart attack at sea.-VNA
