Female drivers: Heroines in Vietnam’s resistance war

The great victory of the resistance war against the US aggressors 45 years ago was thanks to the sacrifices made by many people that we will never forget. They are the female drivers who bravely crossed rough paths along the Truong Son mountain range to carry essential goods and weapons to the South.

Though we are now living in peace time, members of the Truong Son platoon of female drivers always have the heroic memories of their youth, when they drove trucks together across rough paths down the Truong Son mountain range to carry essential goods and weapons between the North and South.

The female drivers spent their entire young lives in dense forests and bomb sites, where a lot of their comrades laid down their lives. The tough conditions required them to continually improvise to fulfill the task of bringing aid to the Southern front, contributing to the great victory against the US aggressors in 1975.

During the war, female drivers bravely conducted dangerous missions for Vietnam’s liberation cause. It has become a part of them, shaping their personalities – brave and selfless./.
