Earlierthis month, the Government approved Resolution 42 for a 62 trillion VND (over 2.66billion USD) package to help those who have lost their jobs and income due tothe pandemic.
Accordingto the VFF, it would oversee lists of relief recipients under Resolution 42along with the publication of the lists at the headquarters of localgovernments.
Speakingat a conference earlier this week, President of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man asked local VFF chapters towork closely with other agencies to ensure recipients were eligible for thefunds.
Ministerof Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung emphasised that PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had said the package should not provideindiscriminate support for all people, and that the burden of the pandemicwould be shared between businesses and the Government.
PM Phucordered measures be put in place to ensure the transparency of the funding toensure the support went to the right people.
“This isan unprecedented decision which reflects the care of the Government towards itspeople,” Dung said.
He also saidthe support package had been welcomed nationwide.
Inaddition, agencies would continue to hold online conferences to guide theimplementation of the package based on specific needs.
Localitieswill need to focus on supporting workers and people who have suffered incomecuts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fourgroups set to receive support in April are poor households, those whocontributed to the country’s revolution and construction, near-poor householdsand beneficiaries of social welfare policies. He also said that freelanceworkers were also in desperate need of support and asked localities to focus onthis group./.
