Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister ofInformation and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong said that informationsafety had won public interest in recent times when many websites andportals had been continuously hacked, affecting their prestige andcausing economic damages for businesses and State agencies.
Therefore, it was necessary to have technical guidance to ensuresafety for websites and portals, while strengthening information safetymeasures in Vietnam , he stressed.
VNCERTrepresentatives introduced draft guidelines on technical measures toensure safety for websites and portals, which aimed to provide basictechnical guidance to ensure information safety for software andhardware systems of websites and portals, as well as set up protectionsystems.
According to network security experts,between May and June, more than 300 Vietnamese websites were hackedthrough altered interfaces and stolen data. On June 2 alone, up to 200websites were attacked. Websites of State management agencies andorganisations were mainly targeted by hackers./.
