Next year's exam, held in thesecond week of June, will combine the national university entrance examand high school graduation exam so that students only have to take one.
Theirresult will determine whether they graduate high school, as well astheir admission to university, college or vocational training school.
Oneof the proposed methods has students sit for tests in three compulsorysubjects (maths, literature and foreign language) and one optionalsubject (physics, chemistry, biology, history or geography).
Thesecond method has the same compulsory tests but only two optional tests,one combining physics, chemistry and biology and another combininghistory and geography.
The third method includes four compulsorytests: a foreign language test, a test that combines maths and computerscience, a test on physics, chemistry, biology and technology and afourth that includes literature, history, geography and morality.
Speakingat the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked the educationministry to select the most feasible method based on feedback fromparticipants.
The focus should be on choosing a method thatbenefited society, even if it was difficult for the education sector toimplement, he said.
The ministry plans to publicise the selected method in September.-VNA
