HCM City (VNA) – An exhibitiontitled “Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam: Historical and legal evidence”kicked off at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Ho Chi Minh Cityon September 11.
Theexhibition, co-organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications andthe Vietnam National University – HCM City, features evidence affirming thatHoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos belong to Vietnam.
On showare documents, maps, images and items which were published by Vietnamese andinternational scholars, asserting Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa andTruong Sa archipelagos.
HoangMinh Phuong, an official from the ministry, said Vietnam’s sea and islands are aninseparable part of the country, adding the exhibition is part of activities toraise awareness and responsibility of students and staff of the university innational construction and defence.
He alsohighlighted that communication campaigns on sea and islands over the time havegreatly contributed to the country’s sovereignty on the East Sea, especiallyover the two archipelagos.
Theexhibition will run until September 13./.
