HCM City (VNA) – An exhibition celebrating the50th anniversary of the “Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the air” victoryopened in Ho Chi Minh City on December 15.
On display are more than 200 photos, documents and artefacts whichmanifest the smart leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh;solidarity between the army and the people in the 12-day battle which subsequentlyled to the signing of the Paris Agreement on ending the war in Vietnam.
The exhibition, “Epic of Dien Bien Phu in the air”, is jointlyorganised by Military Zone 7 and the Air Defence-Air Force.
According to Colonel Hoang Dinh Chung, political commissar of Military Zone 7, said this is a practical activity contributing to educatingcadres, soldiers and people on revolutionary ideals and patriotism as well as promotethe tradition of the heroic Vietnamese People's Army and build a regular, eliteand modern army.
In the battle, theVietnamese army and people shot down 81 aircraft, including 34 strategic B-52 bombers.
After the exhibition, all documents and artifacts willthen be on display at armed forces units of Military Zone 7 and schools inHCM City./.
