Hanoi (VNA) – Member units of the state-owned Vietnam Electricity (EVN), who have spared no efforts to obtain many impressive achievements and overcome the turbulent year of 2021, are now ready to complete targets and tasks set for 2022 under the theme of “Safe, flexible and effective adaptation”.
Below are opinions of leaders of some EVN units:
Pham Quoc Bao – Chairman of the Members’ Council at the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC): Focusing on three main targets
In 2022, EVNHCMC will focus on three main targets. First of all, it is successful digital transformation. On that basis, all services of the corporation will be provided on the digital platform and it will offer digital solutions and services to customers. Secondly, significant attention will be paid to the building of a smart grid toward its completion by 2023. The third goal is to boost management capacity in line with international standards.
Do Nguyen Anh - Chairwoman of the Members’ Council at the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC): Identifying challenges
In 2022, EVNNPC has clearly identified its difficulties in order to come up with specific and concerted solutions. In particular, the corporation has determined the biggest challenge, that is to ensure enough electricity for the northern region, especially during months of hot and extreme weather. It has set up a steering board for ensuring the power supply for the region in the 2021-2025 period, which holds monthly meetings to put forth and implement solutions. Accordingly, EVNNPC is set to focus on speeding up and ensuring the progress of projects on the power grid construction; to proactively capture information from the National Load Dispatch Centre (EVNNLDC) to make a communications plan; and to work with local authorities and major customers to organise production reasonably; among others.
Truong Hoang Vu – Director General of the Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO 2): Stepping up digital transformation
Toward completing 2022 goals, EVNGENCO 2 has implemented a series of works regarding ensuring a normal water level rise on reservoirs and the operation quality of its turbines.
To further step up digital transformation is also a key task, with the company having piloted a number of digital transformation solutions in its subsidiaries, typically one, titled "Building the intelligent production management software - Siemens XHQ", at the A Vuong Hydropower Joint Stock Company. These pilot solutions will soon be replicated in all plants run by EVNGENCO 2.
Nguyen Tuan Tung - Chairman of the Members’ Council at the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT): Safe, flexible adaptation for effective implementation of construction and investment projects
In 2022, EVNNPT will continue to coordinate with ministries, sectors and localities to safely and flexibly adapt, as well as promptly and effectively deploy construction and investment projects, especially those aiming to release power source capacity in the South Central region.
Currently, with the application of digital technology, the awareness of our employees has been raised to a new level. The corporation will continue to intensify its application of digital technology in construction and investment, operation management, human resource management, operation efficiency improvement, and labor productivity increase.
Nguyen Duc Ninh – Director of the National Load Dispatch Centre (EVNNLDC): Operating the electricity market in a stable, safe and transparent manner
In 2022, facing myriad hurdles, EVNNLDC will synchronously implement its solutions with a determination to ensure the stable, safe, and transparent operation of the power system and electricity market in compliance with the laws of the State.
At the same time, the center will recommend EVN and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to synchronously amend circulars on transmission, distribution, dispatching, and electricity market, among others, to ensure the operation of the electricity system and market when the rate of renewable energy increases. It is necessary to upgrade the system’s IT infrastructure to meet demand in the new situation.
The centre is also preparing its resources, increasing sci-tech applications, and improving its management capacity and human resources, among others./.
