Events marking Liberation Day open in Hanoi

A series of activities marking the 44th anniversary of the Liberation Day (April 30) and the 133rd May Day (May 1) kicked off at the Centre for Thang Long Heritage Conversation in Hanoi on April 25.

Hanoi (VNA) – A series of activities marking the 44th anniversary of the LiberationDay (April 30) and the 133rd May Day (May 1) kicked off at the Centre for Thang Long Heritage Conversation in Hanoi on April 25.

As manyas 150 images, documents and exhibits are put on show in an exhibition on the1975 Spring Offensive.

Theydepict D67 House and Bunker, whichserved as the military headquarters of General Vo Nguyen Giap during the war,along with the Spring Offensive and the joy of people in Hanoi and Ho Chi MinhCity on April 30, 1975.

The eventwill run through May 31.

Meanwhile,another exhibition on awarding system in court examination in Thang Longcapital (now Hanoi) during the Le Dynasty is also underway until May 25.

Visitorscan have a closer look at the rituals to bestow the kings’ rewards to scholarsin the past, which were designed to honour the country’s tradition fondness forlearning and supporting talents.

Severalrestored exhibits are also displayed at the exhibition, including the tents ofexaminees, brushes, exam papers, and ancient books, among others. The valuableitems were previously donated by a family in Hanoi.

Besides,the Centre for Thang Long Heritage Conversation will arrange various culturaland educational activities in the period. Notably, a zone for exploring archaeologywill be opened to children free of charge at the archaeological excavation siteat No. 18 Hoang Dieu street.-VNA
