Phnom Penh (VNA) – The European Union(EU) has affirmed it would consolidate relations with Cambodia at the 10thEU-Cambodia Joint Committee meeting in Brussels, Belgium, from March 12-14,according to Fresh News, the most read news website in Cambodia.
The meeting aims to review the bilateralcooperation over the past two years, focusing on agriculture, natural resourcesmanagement, education, trade-investment, construction, administrative reform,legal reform, courts and human rights.
Apart from discussing the political situation inthe EU and Cambodia, the two sides also talked about regional and multilateral issuesrelating to the Greater Mekong Subregion, ASEAN-EU relations, climate changeand human right cooperation at UN forums.
The EU welcomed progress in bilateralcooperation with Cambodia and congratulated the country for rising above thepoor-country status. The bloc reiterated its desire for stronger collaboration withthe Southeast Asian country in the future.-VNA
