Hanoi (VNA) – TheEuropean Commission has provided humanitarian aid worth 200,000 EUR to assist peoplein Vietnam’s central and south central regions affected by typhoon Damrey inNovember, said the European Union delegation in Vietnam on December 13.
The aid, part of the assistance ofthe European Union to the Disaster Relief Emergency Fund under theInternational Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, helped theVietnam Red Cross Society deliver necessities to victims.

The most affected families havereceived cash to meet their basic needs and maintain their livelihoods.Activities to prevent diseases such as dengue fever, malaria and typhoid feverhave also been launched.
Typhoon Damrey hit Vietnam onNovember 4, affecting more than 4.3 million people and damaging some 303,500houses. -VNA
