Hanoi (VNA) – VietnameseAmbassador to Tanzania and Ethiopia Nguyen Kim Doanh on September 13 met withEthiopian Foreign Minister (FM) Workneh Gebeyehu who proposed that theVietnamese Government consider reopening its embassy in the capital city ofAddis Ababa.
The Ethiopian FM said that the Government andpeople of Ethiopia treasure friendship with Vietnam.
He said that the current partnership has yet tomeet the expectations of the Ethiopian and Vietnamese governments and people.
Ambassador Doanh suggested that the EthiopianForeign Ministry soon re-organise a visit of Prime Minister HailemariamDesalegn to Vietnam, which was postponed in October last year.
During the visit, the two sides can finalisesome agreements, including one on investment encouragement and protection, and oneon visa exemptions for holders of official passports and another onconsultations between the two foreign ministries, he said.
The ambassador also proposed that the EthiopianGovernment create favourable conditions for Vietnam’s Viettel Group to investin Ethiopia.
Gebeyehu pledged that he will ask the EthiopianGovernment to continue the two countries’ working agenda.-VNA
