At the banquet in Tel Aviv on September 2, Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Ta Duy Chinh recalled the historic moment when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence to establish the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

He highlighted the country’s substantial achievements over the past 70 years which have helped raise its stature in the world, stressing that Vietnam will continue to be an active, responsible and trustful member of the international community in decades to come.

He also underlined the sound progress in the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between his nation and Israel and voiced the belief that bilateral ties will further advance for the sake of the two peoples’ interests and the global peace and security.

On behalf of the Israeli Government, Minister of Environmental Protection Avi Gabbay said countries around the world values attainments Vietnam has reaped over the past 70 years.

He noted bilateral collaboration is becoming more and more practical, especially in economics, agriculture and sci-tech, adding that two-way trade increased rapidly in recent years.

The official said he believes that their affiliation will be expanded in the time ahead and an expected bilateral free trade agreement will boost their trading activities.

Also on September 2, the Vietnamese Embassy in France organised a ceremony celebrating the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day with the attendance of senior officials of France’s ministries of foreign affairs, defence, internal affairs, parliament and local authorities.

At a similar event held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Kiev the same day, Ukrainian First Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Galibarenko read a congratulatory letter sent by the country’s Prime Minister Arseniy Yaseniuk, who hailed Vietnam’s enormous accomplishments and expressed the aspiration for the two countries’ stronger amity and cooperation.
