Cairo (VNA) – Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on lateDecember 28 visited Vietnamese tourists wounded in a roadside bomb blast thatkilled three other Vietnamese the same day.
He said Egyptian officials contacted with the Vietnamese Embassy, and the Egyptiantourism minister would meet with the Vietnamese Ambassador in Cairo soon.
The PM emphasised medical assistance for the tourists as the most important thingto do.
The incident occurred when a bus carrying a group of Vietnamese tourists alongwith a guide and a driver of Egypt was hit by a roadside bomb at 18:15 (23:15of December 28, Hanoi time).
The improvised explosive device was placed near a wall along the MariyutiyaStreet in Al-Haram district near the Giza Pyramids.
According to the Vietnamese Embassy, there were 18 people on the bus at that time, including 15Vietnamese and three Egyptians.
The Egyptian side confirmed an Egyptian was killed along with the three Vietnamesetourists in the bomb attack.
After the attack, all victims were rushed to El-Haram hospital in Giza province.
No militant groupimmediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
Armed security personnel quickly deployed to the site and cordoned off the areafor inspection. - VNA
