According to the IndonesiaMeteorology and Geophysics Agency, the quake struck at 4:04am (Jakartatime) with epicenter at 71km northeast Sangihe Island and with the depthat 71km under seabed.
Previously at 00:40 am(Jakarta time), another quake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale struckoff East Nusa Tenggara province in central part of Indonesia.
It was centered at 64 km southeast of the province and with the depth at 65km under seabed without causing any damage.
Indonesia is prone to quakes as it lies on a vulnerable quake-hit zone called "the Pacific Ring of Fire.-VNA
