Hanoi (VNA) –Vietnam earned 212.2 trillion VND (9.34 billion USD) from tourism in the firstfive months of 2017, an increase of 26.7 percent from the same period lastyear, according to the General Statistics Office.
Internationalarrivals to the country reached more than 5.25 million during the period, up29.6 percent year on year, while tourist attractions across the countrywelcomed 34.2 million domestic visitors.
The country receivedsome 973,000 foreign travellers in May, down 9.2 percent from April and up 26.8percent year on year. Most of them came from China (up 55.5 percent), theRepublic of Korea (up 140.9 percent), Taiwan (up 22.6 percent), and Russia (up52.8 percent).-VNA
