Illustrative image (Source: VNA) Lam Dong (VNA) – The Dutch Day hosted by the DutchEmbassy in Vietnam began in Da Lat city, the Central Highlands province of LamDong, on June 8 with a seminar sharing the Netherlands’ experience insustainable agricultural production.
Many activities will be held during the Dutch Day on June 8and 9 to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam - Netherlandsdiplomatic ties.
At the seminar, Dutch and Vietnamese firms shared experiencein applying technological advances in agricultural production, focusing onorganic cultivation, treatment of virus-caused diseases on flowers andvegetables.
On the occasion, the provincial Department of Agricultureand Rural Development signed an agricultural cooperation agreement with RijkZwaan Vietnam company.
Dutch Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Carel Richter saidsustainable agricultural production is key to creating a clean environment withsufficient food for future generations.
In the afternoon the same day, Vice Chairman of theprovincial People’s Committee Pham S met a delegation of Dutch enterprises ledby Richter.
The Dutch side expressed readiness to share technicalexpertise with Vietnam and Lam Dong in particular in the agricultural field formutual benefits.
On June 9, a series of cultural and arts events, bicycleparade and cuisine exchange will be held in Da Lat’s Lam Vien Square.-VNA
