According to statistics of the World Health Organization (WHO), as manyas 70 percent of male Vietnamese drink alcohol and one in every fourmen use the drinks at dangerous level which is equivalent to six glassesof beer per day.
Besides strict anti-drink law, the officialcalled for more awareness raising campaigns on the negative impacts ofthe excessive consumption of alcohol on health and traffic safety. Heurged State agencies, organisations and companies to ban alcoholconsumption during working hours.
On the global scale, theabuse of alcohol drinks results in more than 2.2 million deaths. Around30 percent of traffic accidents are related to alcohol use. In addition,the excessive consumption of alcohol is also a main cause ofnon-communicable diseases in the world as well as in Vietnam.-VNA
