Dong Nai opens 7-million-USD food processing factory

A food processing factory worth 7 million USD was opened in Trang Bom district, the southern province of Dong Nai, on October 10.

Hanoi (VNA) – A food processing factory worth 7million USD was opened in Trang Bom district, the southern province of DongNai, on October 10.

The factory, covering 6 hectares in Trung Hoacommune, was built under a partnership between the GreenFeed Vietnam JSC andDong Nai Food Industrial Corporation (DOFICO). 

It is equipped with pig and chicken slaughteringlines and a European-standard food production system.

With technologies imported from Germany andDenmark, it can slaughter 250,000 – 300,000 pigs and 6 – 9 million chickens ayear to produce about 19,000 tonnes of pork and 10,000 – 13,000 tonnes ofchicken meat.

This plant is also set to manufacture about 3 –5 tonnes of processed meat products daily.

An executive of DOFICO said the inauguration ofthe factory has created a complete production chain from animal foodproduction, farming, slaughtering to food processing and distribution. It willhelp ensure consumption for the animal husbandry sector in Dong Nai andneighbouring provinces.

Dong Nai is one of the biggest husbandry centresof Vietnam. It is part of the southern key economic region, which also includesHo Chi Minh City and the provinces of Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, BaRia-Vung Tau, Long An and Tien Giang.-VNA
