Hanoi (VNA) – The Party CentralCommittee’s Inspection Commission announced on July 3 that it will considerdisciplinary action against some officials for violations.

During its 15th meeting from June 27-30 inHanoi, the commission issued a warning against Phan Thi My Thanh, DeputySecretary of the Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly delegationof the southern province of Dong Nai.

According to the commission, while working asDirector of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade and Secretary ofthe Party Committee of Nhon Trach district, Thanh joined the management of CuongHung Ltd. Co. which was co-founded by her husband, meaning Thanh violated theLaw on Anti-Corruption.

While holding the position of Vice Chairwoman ofthe provincial People’s Committee, Thanh committed some violations, includingsigning documents to allow the Cuong Hung company to invest in a commercialresidential project in Phuoc Tan commune, violating the anti-corruption law andParty regulations.

Thanh also signed committee documents she wasnot authorised to sign, allowing the company to trade construction materialsand lease premises, violating the regulations of the provincial People’sCommittee.

Thanh also signed documents providing financialsupport for land clearance task for a Build-Operate-Transfer road projectwithout asking for agreement from the provincial People’s Committee orreporting to the provincial People’s Council, violating investment regulations.

During the meeting, the commission also proposeddisciplinary action against Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Ho Thi KimThoa.

According to the commission, while holding theposition as Party Committee Secretary and Director of Dien Quang Lamp Companyfrom January 2004 to May 2010, Thoa violated regulations on businessequitisation and procedures and illegally handles loan interest exempted frombanks worth 6.7 billion USD (some 298,000 USD).

She also violated State regulations on landmanagement when the Dien Quang Company signed a contract to jointly invest inland in HCM City with Vietnam Investment Construction Trade JSC withoutagreement from the land owner and relevant authorities. She did not reportrelevant authorities to handle while illegally handled revenue worth 30 billionVND (1.3 million USD) from transferring the rights to exploit the land slot.

Thoa also bought shares exceeding allowed levelsand violated Dien Quang Company’s regulations on share transfer.

Also at the meeting, the commission deliberateddraft amendments and supplements to Regulation No.181-QD/TW of the Politburo ondisciplinary measures against violating Party members.-VNA
