The incoming ambassador cited economics, trade, investment, culture,science-technology, healthcare and training as the areas of greatpotential for bilateral cooperation.
“ Vietnamand Mexico have well coordinated with and strongly supported eachother in international organisations and multi-lateral forums, thusimproving the two countries’ prestige in the international arena,” Tungemphasised.
He also conveyed President Nguyen MinhTriet’s deep gratitude to President Calderon for Mexico ’s invaluablesupport to Vietnam ’s national defence in the past and constructionat present.
For his part, President Calderonhighlighted numerous similarities between the two countries in theirhistory of national construction and defence, especially in the currenteconomic development.
“These similarities havelaid the foundation for the two countries to develop bilateral relationsin the years to come,” said the Mexican State leader.
He lauded the positive results of Vietnam-Mexico high-level meetingsheld on the sidelines of the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forumsummits in Peru in 2008 and Japan in 2010.
Calderon also highly spoke of Vietnam’s contributions to the success ofthe UN climate change conference held in the coastal city of Cancun,Mexico, in 2010./.
