Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has called on the Slovakian Government to continue to create the best conditions for Vietnamese businesses in Slovakia and ensure equality for hundreds of Vietnamese workers in the country.

Bratislava (VNA) – Deputy PrimeMinister Vuong Dinh Hue has called on the Slovakian Government to continue tocreate the best conditions for Vietnamese businesses in Slovakia and ensure equalityfor hundreds of Vietnamese workers in the country. 

At a meeting with Slovakian Deputy PM andMinister of Interior Robert Kalinak inBratislava, Slovakia, on September 20, Deputy PM Hue said Slovakia and Vietnamboast great potential for cooperation.  

Slovakia is Vietnam’s largest trade partner in Central andEastern Europe while Vietnam is Slovakia’s 14th biggest tradepartner, said Hue.

Host and guest agreed to devise cooperation mechanisms foraction plans, organise trade promotion activities, connect businesses andlocalities of the two countries, and help enterprises invest in the respectivemarkets.

They also discussed the benefits of the EU-Vietnam FreeTrade Agreement to Vietnamese and Slovakian businesses and people, and agreedto push for the signing of the deal.

Kalinak expressed his belief that Hue’s visit to Slovakia,his first visit to the Central European nation in his capacity as VietnameseDeputy PM, will advance ties between the two countries.

Slovakia is Vietnam’s faithful and close friend, and standsready to support the country in any circumstances, he affirmed.

The same day, Deputy PM Hue visited the Trnava region where chairmanof the region Tibor Mikus affirmed that Trnava people have special sentimentstowards Vietnam.

Trnava plans to step up investment and trade activities inVietnam while encouraging Vietnamese enterprises to operate in the region.

Deputy PM Hue said the Vietnamese Government welcomes Slovaklocalities, including Trnava, to establish twin relationships with Vietnamesecities and provinces to boost connectivity and create opportunities for the twosides’ firms and people.

He also talked about possibilities for cooperation in fieldsof Trnava’s strengths such as heavy industry, chemicals, electricity, electronics,auto manufacturing, wood processing and high-tech.

The official called on Trnava authorities to continue theirsupport and create optimal conditions for the 400-strong Vietnamese communityin the region.

In Horne Saliby town of Trnava, Deputy PM Hue and theauthorities of Trnava and Horne Saliby inaugurated a plaque in memory ofPresident Ho Chi Minh’s visit to the town on September 18, 1957. -VNA
