Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha received Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) to Vietnam Oh Young-ju in Hanoi on April 14, asking the diplomat to help promote the cooperative ties between the two countries in climate change response and just energy transition.

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy PrimeMinister Tran Hong Ha received Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) toVietnam Oh Young-ju in Hanoi on April 14, asking the diplomat to help promotethe cooperative ties between the two countries in climate change response and just energy transition.

Deputy PM Ha underlined the vigorousand practical development of the Vietnam - RoK relations, with a number of significantachievements obtained.

The two countries have become leadingpartners in multiple spheres, of which economic, trade, andinvestment cooperation are the pillars of partnership and are an impetus for bilateral connection,he went on.

He called on the ambassador to continue bolster the bilateral cooperation, especially in climate change response, greenhousegas emission reduction, and just energy transition.

Highly valuing Korean businesses’attention to key transport infrastructure projects in Vietnam, the Deputy PM said this is one of the Vietnamese Government’s priorities in the coming years.

He also asked ministries, sectors, and localities to continue creatingfavourable conditions for Korean firms to explore investment opportunities,negotiate, and take part in transport infrastructure projects in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Ambassador Oh saidthe recent establishment of the Vietnam - RoK comprehensive strategicpartnership has paved the way for the elevation of bilateral ties in allaspects, including economy, trade, and investment.

The RoK also wants to cooperate with Vietnam in some other fields such as supplychain guaranteeing, climate change response, digital transformation, science - technology,green economy, circular economy, and renewable energy, she said.

Specialised agencies of the RoK arewilling to share experience, provide assistance, and give advice to Vietnamesepartners in the formation and operation of a carbon market. They have also paid attention to and hoped to participate in major transport projects in Vietnam,help build a greenhouse gas emission allowance trading system, and partner inthe mining industry, according to the diplomat./.
