Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister andForeign Minister Pham Binh Minh on June 21 cabled a message of sympathy toChinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi over recent naturaldisasters causing human and property losses.

Earlier on June 19, Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc sent his sympathy to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

China’s southern localities were hit bydownpours and floods while an earthquake struck the south western province ofSichuan on June 17.

Dozens of people have been killed and 356,000had to evacuate from their homes as heavy rain and floods have swept throughlarge parts of southern China, from Guangdong province in the southeast tosouthwest China’s Chongqing on the upper reaches of the Yangtze river.

Meanwhile, the quakes in Sichuan’s Yibin cityhave left 13 people dead, 199 others injured and more than 140,000 residentsaffected.-VNA
