Lam Dong (VNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh visited and extended Christmasgreetings to the Da Lat Diocese and the EvangelicalChurch of Vietnam (South) in the Central Highlandsprovince of Lam Dong on December 22.
At the Da LatDiocese, the Deputy PM said that this year, despite the difficulties andchallenges posed by COVID-19, climate change, and natural disasters in thecentral region, the country has been strong in implementing the twin targets ofpreventing the pandemic and boosting socio-economic development.
He lauded theCatholic community’s efforts in joining hands with the Government to overcomedifficulties, support flood-hit people, and reinforce great national unity.
He wished priests,nuns, dignitaries, and Catholics in Da Lat and Lam Dong province a merry Christmas, while expressing a hope that they will continueto contribute to national construction and defence.
He also hoped that dignitaries and the Catholic community will promote patriotism and accompanythe nation, thus contributing more to the building of Vietnam into a rich, strong, democratic, equitable and civilised nation.
During the visit to theEvangelical Church of Vietnam (South), the Deputy PM extended his Christmas greetings to dignitariesand followers and expressed his beliefthat the church will continue to abide by the Party's policies and the State’s laws,while actively engaging in patriotic emulation movements as well associo-economic development activities in the locality.
In Lam Dong, theEvangelical Church of Vietnam (South) has more than 77,000 followers. Over the years, dignitariesand followers have actively joined socio-economic and cultural activities inthe locality, contributing to ensuring political security, social order, andsafety, and strengthening national solidarity in the province./.
