Tokyo (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham BinhMinh lauded Japan’s support for Vietnam’s socio-economic development, economicrestructuring and infrastructure construction.
He made the remarks while meeting with Chairperson of the Liberal DemocraticParty of Japan (LDP)’s Policy Research Council Fumio Kishida on June 1 in theframework of President Tran Dai Quang’s state visit to Japan.
He thanked the Japanese side for giving President Quang and the Vietnamesehigh-ranking delegation warm welcome, particularly the presence of the Emperorand Empress at the ceremony to mark the 45th anniversary ofVietnam-Japan diplomatic relations.
The Vietnamese diplomat said that the visit is significant to open a newdevelopment phase in the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership towardsa more practical and effective manner, meeting expectations of people from thetwo countries.
On the occasion, he congratulated Kishida on receiving the Order of Friendship fromPresident Tran Dai Quang in recognition for his great contributions to thedevelopment of the two countries’ relations.
Minh expressed his hope that Kishida will continue his support for thebilateral relations in the coming time.
Kishida, for his part, affirmed that Japan attached much importance to thesuccess of President Quang’s State visit while expressing his delights over thestrong and extensive relations between Vietnam and Japan in the past 45 years.
Speaking highly of Vietnam’s socio-economic development in the past time, theJapanese official said that Japan will further assistance for Vietnam todevelop socio-economy, including high-quality infrastructure construction andhuman resources training.
He said that it is his honour to receive the Order of Friendship from theVietnamese State after more than two decades working for the thrivingVietnam-Japan ties.-VNA
