Meeting with the state’s Premier DanielAndrews in Melbourne on November 26, the official highlighted that Victoria isamong the Australian states which nurture a practical and effective cooperationin multiple fields with Vietnamese localities.
He also spoke highly of the outcomes ofrecent Vietnam visits by Andrews in October and Governor of Victoria LindaDessau one month earlier, expressing his delight that businesses of theAustralian state have bolstered investment in Vietnam, boosting two-way trade.
Dung asked local authorities to continue tocreate favourable condition for the Vietnamese community of more than 130,000people in Melbourne and other cities of the Australian state.
For his part, Andrews affirmed that therewill be more visits by leaders and businesses of the state to Vietnam in 2020to promote cooperation and investment.
He voiced his hope that the two sides willdevise an action plan to further boost trade, tourism and student exchanges,and highly valued the role and contributions by the Vietnamese community in thestate as an important factor that fosters the Australia-Vietnam friendship andcollaboration.

Attending an event to introduce Vietnameseproducts in Melbourne, he noted that the development of the Vietnam-Australiastrategic partnership has opened new opportunities for economic cooperation forbusinesses of the two nations.
He called on the countries’ firms to graspthe chances to bolster investment and trade in a bid to make Vietnam andAustralia among the 10 leading trade partners of each other and double two-wayinvestment in the coming time.
The Deputy PM also toured the RMITUniversity which has become the largest direct foreign investor of Australia inVietnam with more than 6,000 students in the country, lauding its recentcooperation deals to train workforce in Vietnam’s aviation industry and pledgingto create optimal conditions for Australian education facilities to continuetheir investment and activities in Vietnam.
Meeting with leaders of the VietnameseBusiness Association of Australia (VBAA) on November 27, the official spokehighly of efforts by the VBAA in the development of trade and investmentbetween the countries.
Receiving leaders of the Macquarie Group,Australia’s largest investment fund in renewable energy, and the country’sleading natural gas producer Woodside, Dung welcomed Australian firms’ furtherinvestment in Vietnam’s energy sector, especially renewable energy.
The Deputy PM arrived in Auckland onNovember 27 evening, starting a working trip to New Zealand./.
