Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh held a discussion over the phone with Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah on March 12 to discuss several issues in bilateral ties.

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh held a discussion over the phone with Malaysian ForeignMinister Saifuddin Abdullah on March 12 to discuss several issues in bilateralties.

Regarding the accusation of Vietnamese citizen Doan ThiHuong, who was alleged to have killed an individual from the DemocraticPeople’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Malaysia in February 2017, Deputy PM Minhaffirmed that Vietnamese leaders and people have been paying close attention tothe trial process and its outcomes.

He asked the Malaysian side to ensure fairness for and to setHuong free.

Both ministers affirmed their close coordination inbilateral and multilateral aspects over the years.

They agreed to continue facilitating all-level visits andmaintain regular bilateral cooperation mechanisms in order to deepen the Vietnam-Malaysiastrategic partnership. –VNA
