Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy DefenceMinister Sen. Lieut. Gen Nguyen Chi Vinh and Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam HongXiaoyong reviewed bilateral defence ties during their meeting in Hanoi on May4.

Host and guest discussed preparationsfor the upcoming Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange, affirmingthat the event is meant to concretise the Joint Vision Statement on DefenceRelations until 2025 signed between the two defence ministries on the occasionof Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to China in January 2017.

Ambassador Hong informed the hostthat Politburo member and Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of China’sCentral Military Commission Fan Changlong will pay an official visit to Vietnamand join the fourth Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange.

He emphasised that the visit is a manifestation of China’s appreciation ofdefence ties with Vietnam.-VNA
