Da Nang (VNA) –The People’s Committee of central Da Nang city has asked Dana-Italy andDana-Australia steel factories to immediately halt production activitiesdirectly causing environmental pollution.
The request was made onMarch 1 following the February 28 dialogue between municipal leaders and local residentsin Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district, where the two factories are reportedlycausing environmental pollution.
The city’s Departmentof Natural Resources and Environment was assigned to instruct the EnvironmentalProtection Agency to coordinate with the Hoa Vang district People’s Committeeto supervise the factories’ observance of the request.
The factories arepermitted to continue other transport, import-export and administration-relatedactivities but the time, types of vehicle and number of people involved inthese activities must be reported to the People’s Committee of Hoa Lien commune.
The municipal People’sCommittee Office was asked to sum up opinions of participants at the February28 dialogue and promptly complete a plan to remove the factories, which shouldbe submitted to the municipal Party Committee’s Standing Board for approval beforeMarch 2, 2018.
The Chairman of the HoaVang district People’s Committee will instruct relevant agencies and units, andthe Hoa Lien commune People’s Committee to intensify the communications work tohelp local people understand the city’s policies and abide by law.
Competent forces wererequested to keep a close watch on the situation to swiftly detect and strictlyhandle law violations, and prevent actions affecting political security andsocial order and safety in the locality.
The Chairman of the HoaLien commune People’s Committee was tasked with popularising the conclusionamong local people and businesses.-VNA
