Da Nang airport int’l terminal prepares for trial operation

Da Nang (VNA) – Construction of a newterminal at Da Nang International Airport is mostly completed and trialoperation is scheduled for April 25 - 28, said Le Khac Hong, General Directorof the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company, on March 13.

Accordingly, the construction will be officiallycompleted on April 10, followed by check-ups on the next day.

After the four-day trial operation period, the terminalis projected to serve the first flight on May 8. All flights will betransferred to the new facility between May 9 and 15.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam hasjoined hands with the Ministries of Transport and Construction to complete proceduresfor the new terminal’s operation.

As one of key infrastructure projects in Da Nang,the construction of the international terminal at Da Nang airport began inNovember 2015 with a total investment of over 3.5 trillion VND (154 millionUSD). 

Upon itscompletion, the airport will be able to receive six million passengers per yearand serve 1,600 passengers in peak hours.

The Da Nang Airport is the third largestinternational airport in Vietnam after the Noi Bai International Airport inHanoi in northern Vietnam and Tan Son Nhat in the southern economic hub of HoChi Minh City. It is an important gateway to the central region.-VNA
