Da Nang (VNA) – President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Milan Stech on November 18 toured Da Nang city as part of his official visit to Vietnam from November 15-20.

While in the central city, Milan Stech was received by Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Anh, who said Vietnam in general and Da Nang city in particular always treasure the traditional friendship with the Czech Republic.

The official briefed his guest on the city’s socio-economic achievements over the past years, infrastructure development and incentives for foreign investors.

Da Nang is leading the nation in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Development Index and administrative reform, he said.

Industrial, high-tech and centralised IT areas in the city have attracted a strong flurry of investments, he added.

Anh pledged support and optimal conditions for Czech businesses who are interested in operating in the city.

He noted his hope that the Czech Government will take measures to boost bilateral trade and create favourable conditions for the two countries’ businesses to seek partners and study the market in the respective countries, especially in infrastructure construction, energy and telecommunications.

The guest stated that Vietnam and the Czech Republic are enjoying a thriving relationship, which, he said will bring interests to their people.

On this occasion, Milan Stech and his entourage visited Hydra, an electronic company invested by the Czech Republic, in Dien Ban district’s Dien Nam-Dien Ngoc Industrial Park and Hoi An ancient town in the central province of Quang Nam.

The delegation is scheduled to leave Da Nang on November 19 for Ho Chi Minh City.

Earlier, the Czech parliamentary leader held talks with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, during which the two sides vowed to boost comprehensive cooperation and facilitate partnerships in business, education and tourism as well as culture exchanges.
