Ninh Binh (VNA) – A delegation of the Cuban Workers' Federation (CTC), led by its SecretaryGeneral Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, visited the northern province of NinhBinh on July 7.

At the workingsession with the Cuban delegation, Secretary of the provincial Party CommitteeNguyen Thi Thanh said under the leadership of the Vietnam General Confederationof Labour (VGCL) and provincial leaders, trade unions at all levels in Ninh Binhprovince have shown their role in caring for and protecting legitimate benefitsof workers.

Ulises Guilartede Nacimiento, who is also Politburo member of the Communist Party of Cuba andmember of the Council of State, lauded growth potential of Ninh Binh province.

He reviewedjoint activities between the two countries’ trade unions, praising effective outcomesof bilateral experience exchange, particularly on protecting workers’ interestsin foreign-invested companies.

He expected thebilateral cooperation will be strengthened and more and more Vietnameseenterprises will invest in Cuba.

VGCL PresidentBui Van Cuong said Vietnamese and Cuban trade unions share a close relationshipthorough experience and cultural exchanges and mutual support at internationalforums.

Cuong believed theCuba delegation’s visit to Vietnam would contribute to caring for and protectingworkers’ rights and interests in both nations.

At the session,the Ninh Binh Confederation of Labour introduced to the Cuban guests itslabour-related affairs.

Ninh Binh ishome to 2,600 operating enterprises, of which 50 are foreign-investedbusinesses. The province has 1,077 grassroots-level trade unions with 83,000members.-VNA
