During aface-to-face meeting in Havana on June 24, Shanmugan said his four-dayvisit gave him a general picture of the Caribbean island developmentsand opportunities arising from its socio-economic model.
For his part, Murillo said Cuba will continue learning from Singapore’s development experience to serve its renovation.
Earlier, Shanmugan, who is also Justice Minister of Singapore, heldtalks with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, during which theysigned a visa exemption agreement between the two nations.
InSantiago de Cuba, about 800km from the capital city of Havana, theSingaporean Foreign Minister hailed Cuba’s achievements in medicine,science and technology.
He also spoke out against theeconomic and commercial blockade imposed by the US on the island forhalf of the past century.
Cuba and Singapore established their diplomatic ties in April 1997.-VNA
