Criminal proceedings begin against former VRG officials

The Ministry of Public Security’s Police Investigation Agency on December 12 issued a decision launching criminal proceedings against five former officials of the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) accused of deliberately violating State rules on economic management resulting in serious consequences.

Hanoi (VNA) -The Ministry of Public Security’s Police Investigation Agency on December 12issued a decision launching criminal proceedings against five former officialsof the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) accused of deliberately violating State ruleson economic management resulting in serious consequences.

The five accused are LeQuang Thung – former president of the VRG’s members council, Nguyen Thanh Chauand Nguyen Van Minh – former director and chief accountant of the Dong NaiRubber Company, Nguyen Hong Phu and Hoang Van Son – former director and chiefaccountant of the Phu Rieng Rubber Company.

The criminal proceedingsincluded a search warrant and legal preventive measures needed to be takenagainst the five accused, following a decision issued on December 6 by theministry’s investigative police and investigations conducted on the case inaccordance with Article 165 of the Criminal Code.

Police said they wereexpanding the investigation of the case.-VNA
