Credit institutions warn of a continuous increase in credit risks in the first half of 2022, according to a survey on credit trends by the State Bank of Vietnam’s Forecast and Statistics Department.

Hanoi (VNA) – Credit institutions warn of a continuous increase incredit risks in the first half of 2022, according to a survey on credit trends bythe State Bank of Vietnam’s Forecast and Statistics Department.

The survey was conducted from December 3-15, 2021 on all credit institutions and foreign bank branches in Vietnam, with theresponse rate being 94 percent.

According to them, the increase rate of credit risks in thefirst half of this year will be lower than that in the last six months of theprevious year. The figure in the whole year 2022 is forecast to decreaseslightly against 2021.

Commenting on the credit growth momentum in 2022, creditinstitutions said that wholesale and retail, export and import, loans forliving needs, and construction continue to be the main drivers for creditgrowth in the last six months of 2021 and 2022.

Meanwhile, the field with the highest growth rate chosen by mostof credit institutions switches from wholesale and retail in 2020 and 2021 to exportand import in 2022./.
