Covid-19 risk assessment indicators issued for tourism enterprises

The HCM City Steering Committee for COVID-19 Disease Prevention and Control has issued a set of indicators for Covid-19 risk assessment at tourism and travel enterprises.

HCMCity (VNS/VNA) - The HCM City Steering Committee for COVID-19 DiseasePrevention and Control has issued a set of indicators for Covid-19 riskassessment at tourism and travel enterprises.

Travel enterprises, tourist sites, hotels and lodging facilities such ashomestays and Airbnb are required to follow the evaluation indicators to resumeoperation, according to the city’s Department of Tourism.

The indicators for assessment of COVID-19 infection risk at lodging facilitiesare based on 10 factors, including health declarations of guests, checks ofhealth and training workers on infection prevention, availability of handsanitizer and disinfectant spray, ratio of workers and guests wearingfacemasks, temporary checks of workers and guests, and safe physical distancing.

The evaluation indicators for tourist sites have additional factors such asarranging an isolation area for guests with suspected infection, availabilityof personal protective equipment, and hotlines for emergency situations.

Travel enterprises are requested to follow additional indicators such aslimiting the number of tourists on tours and providing information on infectionprevention for tourists.

A scoring system for assessment of COVID-19 infection risk will be used.Enterprises with a high level of infection risk (with scores below 50 percent) willhave to suspend operation./.
