Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam confirmed16,555 COVID-19 infections on December 22, including 33 imported cases,according to the Ministry of Health.

The nation has documented 1,588,335 coronavirusinfections so far.

The capital city of Hanoi posted the highestnumber of infections at 1,646, followed by Ca Mau with 1,193, and HCM Cityat 979.

On the day, the country saw 210 deaths fromthe disease. The COVID-related death toll now hits 30,251.

A further 13,394 patients were given the all-clearacross the country, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,173,484.

There are currently 8,187 patients nationwidein serious condition with the virus, including 1,152 requiring invasiveventilation and 21 on life support.

As of December 21, a total of 141,083,958 dosesof COVID-19 vaccines had been administered, with over 63.3million people now fully inoculated./.
