In December 2011, Nghe An People'sCourt sentenced Khuong to five years in prison and three years underhouse arrest and Ton to two years in prison and two years under housearrest, for circulating propaganda against the Party and the Government.
The court decided that the case was carriedaccording to the law and that the evidence, including many articleswritten by Khuong and Ton which were circulated on the Internet, wasenough to merit prison sentences.
According to thecharges, on January 15, 2011, the police in central Nghe An provinceseized 68 types of documents containing anti-State content at Khuong’shouse in Nam Anh commune in Nam Dan district.
Two days later,while examining Ton’s house in Quang Yen commune, Quang Xuong districtthe police seized another 10 documents containing anti-State contents.
OnJanuary 22, 2011, the Nghe An police started legal proceeding againstKhuong and Ton on the charge of “distributing propaganda against theState of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam”.-VNA
