Hanoi (VNA) – Construction on threecomponent projects of the North-South Expressway are scheduled to begin onSeptember 30.
The components projects, covering the sections of MaiSon-National Highway 45, Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet, and Phan Thiet-Dau Giay, have beentransformed from the public-private-partnership (PPP) form to the publicinvestment model.
The expressway is set to have a total length of1,811km, connecting Hanoi and the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.
The eastern North-South expressway project includes 11sub-projects with a total length of 654km running through 13 cities and provinces.
The 11 sub-projects are estimated to cost a total of118 trillion VND (5.04 billion USD), including 55 trillion VND in State capital in three public investment projects, and counterpartfunds for the other eight projects.
Once completed, it is expected to become a backboneconnecting the entire country./.
