Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam andPresident Nguyen Phu Trong has sent a message of congratulations to KassymTokayev over his election as President of Kazakhstan.

Kassym Tokaev took the oath of office on June 12.

Vietnam and Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations in1992. Vietnam is now an important trading partner of Kazakhstan in SoutheastAsia, with the free trade agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the EurasianEconomic Union taking effect on October 5, 2016.-VNA
