The International Conference on Teacher Education Renovation, themed I AM STEM 2019, was held at the Thai Nguyen University of Education in the northern province of the same name on September 28.

Thai Nguyen (VNA) – TheInternational Conference on Teacher Education Renovation, themed I AM STEM 2019,was held at the Thai Nguyen University of Education in the northern province ofthe same name on September 28.

The event brought together experts and researchers from Vietnam and foreigncountries like Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland andthe Philippines.

In his opening remarks, Associate Prof. Mai Xuan Truong, head of the ThaiNguyen University of Education, stressed the significance of STEM (science,technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education to improving economiccompetitiveness amidst globalization and the fourth Industrial Revolution.

Reports presented at the conference focused on such issues as IT application inSTEM teacher education, STEM education in developing countries, STEM teachereducation in the context of the fourth Industrial Revolution and STEM educationin disadvantaged, mountainous and ethnic minority-inhabited areas./.
