Concert to raise funds for disabled children

A charity concert will be held in Ho Chi Minh on September 20 to raise funds for disabled Vietnamese children.

The proceeds from the “For children’s smiles” programme, co-organisedby the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), the Vietnam International Bank (VIB) andOperation Smile Vietnam (OSV), will be used to provide free surgery tochildren with facial deformities and cleft palates.

The gala night will include reports on OSV’s activities, discussionswith disabled children and surgeons as well as performances by famousVietnamese singers such as Dan Truong, My Tam and Minh Quan.

OSV, a non-governmental organisation has operated in Vietnam since 1989and so far has performed free operations on more than 12,000 childrenborn with facial deformities.

With this programme, OSV hopes to provide free surgery to 4,000 Vietnamese children this year./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
