Hanoi (VNA) – The Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commissionlaunched a competition on history of the Vietnam-Laos relationship at a pressconference in Hanoi on April 18.

Aspart of activities to mark the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laosdiplomatic ties (September 5, 1962-2017), the move aims to promotepopularisation and raise public awareness, especially that of young people, ofthe Vietnam-Laos special friendship.

Deputy Head of the Commission Pham Van Linh said this is a practical activityto respond to the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2017,contributing to tightening the bilateral ties and fighting hostile forces’ actsto distort the history of the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity and friendship.

The organising board said multiple-choice questions will be available on thewebsite: http://dangcongsan.vn, whilequestions for writing will be given by the Information and Education Magazineunder the commission.

The multiple-choice questions will be conducted every week, beginning from May2 through December 22. Meanwhile, the time for the writing contest will be fromOctober 1-31.

Overseas Vietnamese and Lao, and foreigners are encouraged to join the contest.
